The Story

Crones, in common lore, are wise old women, healers, witches, midwives and leaders.

Four Crones Herbals is dedicated to my great-grandmother and her 3 sisters. German immigrants taking care of their community with kitchen herbs, ritual and lots of tea!

Plant Allies

Every herb has lessons to teach us, that call out to us from our lore, culture, cuisine and environment. My four crone allies are Rose, Yarrow, Mugwort, and Dandelion represented in the logo.

Acknowledgement

My bedrock was formed in the rolling plains of Kansas on the stubborn will of immigrant farmers. I acknowledge that the history of my people was built on the suffering and genocide of another, the indigenous peoples of the plains.

The plants we benefit from and the soil they grow in is a labor of love and sacrifice of native peoples and colonizers. These stories and traditions are bound up together in the stories the plants tell.
